Callum Blake, Honours student

Callum is looking at the broad-scale distribution and infection dynamics of the phytomyxean gall-forming pathogen Maullinia associated with southern bull kelp species (Durvillaea). Callum will use SCUBA diving to measure the impact of these pathogens on bull kelp populations along latitudinal gradients on Australian and Chilean coasts. Callum's Chilean field work is supported by a FONDECYT Chilean grant to Prof Martin Thiel.
